Sonesta Essential Savannah

Room was brand spanking new and very comfortable. Staff incredibly helpful. Our 55 lb rescue dog was welcomed and had a nice time despite the fact that the entire floor was ceramic tile. Luckily we travel with two soft beds for him to provide a soft place to relax.

Driving from South Florida to South Carolina for Thanksgiving, we needed a room right off I-95. Since it was a quick overnight stay, we wanted something cheap and clean. I was put off by so many negative reviews for hotels in the area so I decided to “wing it” with Sonesta and I’m happy I did! This property checked all the boxes and more. Clean oversized room with comfy queen beds, refrigerator, microwave, walk-in shower (helpful for handicapped person), well priced with complimentary hot breakfast and safe location right off I-95. But the best part is the super friendly and helpful staff. At 1 A.M., we were checked in by the hotel manager Abhi. At 11 A.M., the same gentleman helped with the check-out process. He sleeps there and pretty much work all day and night. Nonetheless he was always friendly and enjoy chatting with all his guests as I witnesses his interactions with guests prior and after me. We left the property feeling not just as long time guests but his family friends. Even his staff working the breakfast area was super nice. Thank you Abhi, we will definitely return. We stayed here after seeing the beautiful pictures. We had a HUGE room and a jacuzzi in our bathroom (as well as a nice shower). Customer service was great. Such a steal for the price!

I would recommend this hotel! Especially compared to the surrounding hotels. It is very clean and spacious. Everything was sanitized well, and upkept well. I was also traveling alone and I felt completely safe here to relax, which was amazing. Mr. Menon the manager is so cute and hospitable He made me feel right at home during my stay!

Our room was better than most hotels. Roomy and nice walk-in showers. What makes this a really good hotel is, the customer service. The really nice gentleman behind the counter was top-notch! We saw him around the place several times. Always friendly, smiling, and made our 2 day stay really nice. You don't get good customer service with a smile anymore. Thank you!

Needed a room for the night from Va to Orlando. Booked 20 mins prior to arriving. Manager Ahbi was really welcoming. Since I had a kid he put us on the 1st floor. I only gave 4 starts because the AC was not getting any colder below 72 F and no free water in the room. Room was very spacious, its like you can fit people. 2 queen beds with a couch. Microwave, fridge. Overall great experience! I would come back.

Front desk was super friendly. Smooth check in. Lobby looks beautiful but you can see rooms are very cheaply remodeled (paint on the bottom of the shower to cover up but not much other touch up for other part of it and you can see many parts just "good enough" to stay. ) but nice and clean. Breakfast was okay. Their fresh yogurt was very good tho. We loved the espresso machine available. Overall, for the price, it's good place to stay.

Overall, this is a very nice hotel and a comfortable place to stay after a long drive. I did experience a couple of issues during my visit. There was a noticeable marijuana odor coming from a room directly across the hall prior to my arrival. Although the area appeared to have been cleaned, this was concerning given that the hotel is advertised as non-smoking. Additionally, the television in my room was not working properly—there was sound but no picture. I reported this at checkout, and the staff was very polite and helpful. That said, the staff overall was friendly, the breakfast in the morning was quite good, and the room rate was reasonable. Despite the issues noted, the stay was generally pleasant.
